Winter - Mark

Here are what I have for 'Winter' pictures so far - I played around in Photoshop with a few of them.

I get what Lisa was saying about fences - somehow I'm always drawn to framing one in a picture - I can't help it.

Windmill, Take 2

Several different variations on the moving blades - plus a bonus shot of a Texas-starred item!

Random Recent Texas Pictures

Thanks to Shelley for the Photoshop tip - I'm having fun with the trial version! I still can't get over the amount of Texas flags/stars/pride floating around here.
Just some recent pictures from not too far up the road. I have been doing a bunch of genealogy over the past few years, and one of the things that interests me about the area is that there are Stalcup/Stallcup relatives that were among the pioneers to this region of North Texas in the 1840's. This old abandoned house is a few miles away from where one of the Stallcup's had land, and while I know the house is a bit more modern that the 1840's, it still reminds me of what a possible home would've looked like for Thomas Stallcup and family back in the day.

These are for Tabby since she didn't get to see any longhorns when she visited. I think this one is trying to wink for her - or farting - I'm not sure which!

Next to the cows was a local park that had a farm museum, so I had to go B&W for the old school tools-o-the-farm.

I really liked Lisa's windmill and was inspired to try and do the same. Hers was more worn and had character though. I forgot to slow the shutter speed down to get motion - I'll try it again next time.

The next shots were in a development/shopping area called 'Adriatica' in McKinney. It is based on a Croatian village, and it is pretty neat.

Nothing special photography-wise with the last one, just was amazed at the size of that dwelling. Everything is bigger in Texas!

Thanks!

Great stuff so far - love it! I had to change the background. I loved it, but it was too distracting to the images.

My Winter Photos

So these are my winter pictures. I took them at the Mormon Temple in Mesa. They are a little underexposed because I didn't have a tripod so the aperture was smaller and the flash was faster then they should have been.

This one has been enhanced with Photoshop. I used curves for this one and color balance to make it lighter and greener.

This one has also been enhanced with Photoshop, I used levels and color balanced to get it to look lighter. I put this photo into my art show recently.

This is the last photo from this shoot that i fixed with Photoshop. I used levels and color balance for this one as well to make it lighter and greener.

Flagstaff 2010

In keeping with your winter theme - these are from our trip to Flagstaff last winter. Jacob's first visit to the snow.
Our silly little snowman that we built.
Hello cuteness! Getting ready to play outside in the snow!
I was trying to capture the snow as it randomly fell from the branches when the sun started to melt the snow.
This is the same picture as below only cropped and turned to black and white. I am really drawn to fence lines for some reason.
Color picture of a fence
The trees were so heavy with snow and I loved the contrast against the blue sky.
This day was a little darker - move over cast.
The ice cycles on the cabin were amazing.
This was on the clear day - I focused in on the top of the tree against the blue sky.
